Thank you to the members that sent me these official CUPW documents. These documents give the details of the salaries and expenses of all of the NATIONAL AND REGIONAL OFFICERS.

It's very interesting to see where your union dues are going.

Please pay close attention to the first document under the "Toronto Region" heading. it's intersting to see the wages and expenses of regional officers which you never see, where do they go?. it's even more interesting to see non-elected friends of thier's recieving wages and expenses. For what? What qualifies them?

FUTHERMORE IT'S EVEN MORE INTERESTING TO SEE THE PROOF OF CORRUPTION, AS THIS SHOWS IRWIN NANDA PAID WAGES FROM OUR NATIONAL OFFICE THROUGH THE DIRECTOR SANJAY SAPRA. FOR WHAT? WHY? ALL GOOD QUESTIONS.

Over the last few days there were a vast amount  emails from members that were very upset over the clear is lack change contrary to what was mandated by the membership across Canada. This was voiced by many at the last "All Presidents Meeting", yet the direction of the union is still going opposite to the wishes of the members. Especially the wishes of those that were at the last convention ( and will probably be at the next one), and voted for the change... Which is the clear majority.

 

There was a huge amount of emails sent to the anonymous info email address on this site (NOTE: If you have more info, or want to expose any type corruption going on within your region, please feel free to voice it to this site's email address, anonymously)

Going through them, I noticed that all these emails were quite different, but all were very  similar with regards to content of opinions and concerns. Instead of putting all of them on to this site... Reading through them all, I decided to pick the one that best captures the Essence of the concerns and content of all of them combined. it reads:

 

"At the presidents meeting in January the members requested change. Obviously the NEB/NEC didn't listen. 
The corruption continues instead of making Brother Mike Palecek our lead negotiator they put Brother Lapointe right back in the same position so he can do more harm to our membership.  


The NEB is not serving the membership at large they are serving themselves. Well that is 12 out of the 15 are serving themselves. Sister Simpson, and  Brothers Callaghan and Palecek should be commended for sticking up for the membership."

THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES...

...AND SO DOES THE CORRUPTION IN THE TORONTO REGION...

 

 

Well it's time for another Toronto Regional Educational (March 31-April 3 2017). It's time to fund the corruption of the Toronto Regional office.  Many have complained that the Toronto Regional educational's ever since National Convention has absolutely no diversity. The Toronto Regional office seems to think that stacking  almost an entire Regional educational with members from the South Asian community (Indian), shows diversity. “Diversity” means the inclusion of everyone not just one race, religion or background. Toronto is one of the most diverse regions in all of Canada.  Despite what our Regional office thinks Toronto is not all South Asian. We have a vast spectrum of all ethnic backgrounds. Yet, sadly, this is not reflected in any of the educationals. It’s also reported that gender parity is not equal either contrary to our National Constitution.


As many of us know the Toronto Regional educationals the way the corrupt individuals in the region financially "pay off" those that support, or come out for the Regional office at general membership meetings at votes etc. Unlike other regions across Canada, the Regional office in Toronto has the highest payout of childcare/eldercare in the country. Almost everyone that comes to this region’s educational gets this tax-free money, usually $400 or $800 depending if it is a weekend or a weeklong course, without any verification. It’s never less. It’s always the maximum amount allowed for legitimate childcare expenses, which is always paid out for almost all individuals at these educationals, which should also be a red flag to national. This is where you see Mandeep Kalra (regional education Officer (who was never even a shop steward) handing out all the childcare forms,(some even at the educationals) telling people how to fill it out, where are National will except it and pay it. People are getting childcare, that do not have children of age to require childcare, nor have children with  disabilities, and more alarming is that many are  getting childcare that don't even have children at all. The same is true about the elder care. If you compare the amount of childcare paid out in Toronto, with other regions, even regions with similar diversity of Toronto, they are nowhere near what Toronto is in the spending of childcare. There is a reason for this. Irwin Nanda (appointed spokes person for Sanjay) and Sanjay Sapra (national Director) and Mandeep Kalra (education Officer) and others in the region, or tied to the region, use these educationals as a means to pay off those who support them though tax free childcare money. This is how they stack a general membership meetings. If you don’t come out to support them you are cut from the selections of the next educational which means no money for that individual.

 
This has been brought to the attention of National office many times by many individuals. It has been brought to the attention of many  including the national Second National V.P., who is from Toronto knows what's going on, but still seems to support them, because they supported him at convention, with illegal hand-picked delegates ( but that's another story) and is  now a permanent guest at every educational and gets flown in each time.


Our National secretary treasurer is also aware of this, and told many when campaigned at convention that she would stop the corruption in Toronto, but now from what it looks like she supports it. This is no surprise as members from her home local before she got elected to national secretary treasurer, confirmed an investigation that took place when she was the secretary treasurer of the Ottawa local. It is reported that she used the Local Union credit card to purchase many personal items/ merchandise, when she was in office. She was eventually caught months later and an investigation took place where she ultimately had to pay back all the money. What would've happened if it wasn't caught? How many times wasn't she caught in the past? Why wasn’t she charges for misappropriation of union funds? These were all questions members at the Ottawa local we're asking.


Furthermore, member saw how our National Secretary Treasurer supports the corruption,  as she saw firsthand how are general membership meetings are hijacked by Irwin Nanda, and his friends, when she was flown down to our general membership meetings, but does nothing to help stop it. In fact, it is reported that she is creating additional obstacles for the local making them hold the meetings off site now, (even though they were done on site for the past 30 years+, and threatening the local of trusteeship, if there they don’t do as national wants (just like Irwin use to do as National Director).


She is aware of the fact that Mandeep Kalra does not work at the regional office and spends most of his time working/administering his wife's dental offices. There are many reports of him, working at his wife's dentistry during working hours and still getting paid with our union dues to do a job that he's not there for. Members are getting hurt by this as the regional office is responsible for all short term disability appeals, (which they are losing), arbitration, and more. They are screwing the membership and national is allowing it. The labour board complaints from what is reported are a at record high…and these are just the members who reported getting screwed, as there are many that suffer in silence after they lose everything from an inexperienced, regional office who does not care about the work, but only about continuing corruption to hold positions of power, and get paid for not working. National Office has been aware of this since the convention. Where is that investigation? Where those charges? It’s reported that Irwin has not reported back to work since the OFL convention… and still getting paid for nothing, what being done about that?


Members still want to know why the National Executive Board still has not charged Owen Edwards (now a regional UR) with the rigging of the 2014 Toronto Local Elections, robbing candidate of their positions for his and his friend’s personal/financial and political gain? There was a lot of proof in this case? Why is the board sweeping it under the rug? Who on the board is supporting his theft of the positions from the candidate who campaigned hard only to lose by him purchasing over 2200 ballots from the ballot print shop. There are receipts with his name on them and the print shop. Despite what national thinks, This issue will not go away. He was asked to explain himself at the general membership meetings and refused to do so. There has been no investigation from a disinterested third party, no charges, no explanation. Yet he continues to hold a position, handling our confidential grievances after he did such a heinous and dishonest act? Why is national avoiding it? Is it because he’s Irwin’s best friend? And did everything together even back then? One doesn't have to be a genius to figure out that this is corruption at its fullest.


Again I'd like to reiterate that it's not the entire board that seems to be cropped yet it is the majority. There still is some honest people on it but there are outnumbered, Buy those that entertain Sanjay and move/action anything that he says, to please Irwin. They should be reminded that Irwin only got 173 votes in the last local election (2017) and this is not an accident. Members on the work floor see how he constantly hijacks local General membership meetings, is involved in scandals of all levels, and helped Rig not only the local elections but the delegates to National convention. This is how the entire Regional office are good friends of his. The true story of how they cheated and hand-picked the delegates to National Convention will be out soon.


What is sad about all this is that for a union that prides itself on equity at all levels, our constitution puts in barriers to make it more difficult to bring corrupt individuals to justice the higher you go up the union. Our national Constitution makes it almost impossible to charge a National Officer where you need over half of the entire Membership. It makes it also very difficult to charge Regional officers or as you would need over half of (in the case of Toronto)  a General Membership meeting to place a charge. Yet a rank-and-file member, a normal member on the floor can get charged by anybody, anytime. The National Constitution gives the board the power to charge anybody including regional officers and National officers. They have the power to bring corrupt individuals to justice.  But when it seems that the majority of the board supports corruption, the corrupt individuals get away with everything , and continue to destroy our union for their own personal gain whether politically, financially or both.  This hierarchy and immunity of national and regional officers needs to be changed. People should be accountable for their actions at all levels of the union. Hopefully people that read this, will take action within their own region if they see corruption) and make effective positive changes to eliminate it. If we sit back and do nothing the corruption will eventually destroy this union both morally and financially and we will not have a union to fight for the workers’ rights.


It no accident that each collective agreement we are losing more and more. We use to have superior benefits. Now when you talk to the members many must use their spouse’s benefits as they are better. How many time was your drugs not covered? When other companies have full coverage. Talk to your pharmacist… they will tell you how bad our plan is compared to others. Why is this happening, when our post office is busier than ever with parcels? Remember the NEB is involved in every step of the negotiations, which includes our benefits and rate of pay. The corruption must stop! How much more will we lose???

On February 28, 2017 there was 15, 942 visits in just 24 hours!, which as you can see by the green bar graph (generated by the server) above, was a record "off the charts" day. Wow !

 

This beat the previous record of 14, 278 in 24 hours set on February 24, 2017. Wow

TORONTO NATIONAL DIRECTORS WIFE (CANADA POST SUPERVISOR) WAS CAUGHT RED HANDED STEALING MONEY FROM THE PURSES OF CO-WORKERS !

(Well... in this case "BLUE-HANDED" with THEFT DETECTION DYE)

 

 

 

 

 

METRO-TORONTO REGION'S NATIONAL DIRECTORS (SANJAY SAPRA'S) WIFE, RUBY SAPRA, WAS FOUND BY ARBITRATOR SYDNEY BAXTER GUILTY OF STEALING AND UPHELD HER CANADA POST'S DECISION TO FIRE HER.

 

FUTHERMORE, THE ARBITRATOR COMMENTED THAT SHE AND SANJAY IN A CONSUMER PROPOSAL TO THEIR CREDITORS, LIED UNDER OATH BY SIGNING A DOCUMENT TO THE "COMMISSIONER OF OATHS" WHILE KNOWINGLY MAKING FALSE DECLARATIONS REGARDING THE RESTAURANT AND SWEET SHOP THAT THEY OWN TOGETHER. SHAME, SHAME , SHAME....

 

(FORMAL DECISIONS LIKE THIS ARE PUBLIC DOCUMENTS AND ARE PUBLISHED. READ FULL DECISION AT THE END OF THIS - IN PDF).

 

AS STATED IN THE FORMAL DECISION, RUBY SAPRA, WAS SUPERVISOR FOR CANADA POST AT THE SOUTH CENTRAL PLANT THEN WENT TO IN THE MISSISSAUGA DELIVERY CENTER (MDC), IN MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO. AT THE MDC , WHERE SHE WORKED, MONEY WAS STOLEN FROM THE PURSE OF CO-WORKER AND OTHERS THOUGH-OUT 2008.

 

The Co-workers suspected Ruby Sapra, but was told not to make accusations. In September 2008, $200 of $275 was stolen from a co-workers's wallet ( money from a 50/50 draw that morning) and in October 2008 $50 was stolen from the co-worker's purse, which was reported.

 

On January 2009 her superintendant discovered $480 out of $500 was stolen from her purse (money she was going to deposit for her mortgage). the theft was similar to the rest of them in the past , As stated in the Arbitration "...on each occasion, a small amount of money was left.." in the purse. This time it was $20 left out of $500. The superintendant got the corporation's Postal Inspector involved.

 

The postal inspector "prepared some money "...coated with Theft Detection Powder (TDP)" and planted it in the co-workers and superintendant's hand bags. They did this several times with no theft. It was suggested by the co-worker that the money was not large enough and that at least $100 had to be in it and it should be a wallet not a change purse.

 

On February 3 2009 $100 was dusted with the TDP (theft detection powder) and placed in the wallets. The superintendant Mrs. Roberts, made it clear about a meeting she had to go to with Mr Deeks. When she came back $50 was missing. After the money was missing the Ruby Sapra told people that she had to leave early. She tried to leave with a spring jacket on instead of her winter coat. She was rubbing her hands and they were very red (as if she was scrubbing them hard). There "were specks of purplish-blue colour on the top of her shirt, and ther was a large purple stain along the waist line". She also "appeared nervious and anxious". There were also "purple fingerprint impressions on her desk calendar, and purp[le stains on the "mic phone", a workplace telephone and a trace pf purple colour on the keyboard" of her computer/ in the bathroom "they found a blueish purple stain on the sink" and they "examined the garbage that had been collected by the cleaners and brought to the board room they discovered a paper towel stained purple" That paper towel "was torn at both ends, approximately two feet long, crumpled and balled up in with other towels".

 

At the hearing the Corporate inspector (Ms Grey) "demonstrated the powder's effects by shaking some of the tdp on to a sheet of paper, and touching it with her fingers, which turned purple. She next poured some water on her fingers and the purple darkened. She attempted to wipe it off with a napkin, to no avail, the dye remained on her hand and some of it smudged on to the napkin."

 

As quoted in the arbitration:

"the grievor (Ruby Sapra) was aware that the money was dyed purple, when she was asked for an explanation about the stains on her shirt. She offered a number of possibilities: dirty shirt, tumeric curry, dirt from a monotainer, her children's crayons and pancils, an exploding pen."

 

The arbitrator in the decision stated:

"The grievor(Ruby Sapra) futher testimony that one of the stains on her top happened when she was eating curry, does not, in my view, pass muster. She said that it was a turmeric stain, which is yellow in colour. none of the other witnesses, who observed the grievors top saw anything othere than purpl of pinky purple ctains. not one saw yellow stain. The explanation that she had a yellow stain on her shirt does, not fit with the preponderance of the evedence. ir the stains had emanted from another source it was incumbent on the grievor (ruby Sapra) to provide a reasonable explanation for that sourse. in particular when she was face with allegations of theft and knew that the stolen money had been dyed with colour"

 

He further stated...

"The grievor (ruby Sapra) was given ample opportunity to offer a reasonable alternative explanation for the stains. As noted she did not. on the very day that the seeded money was coated with the TDP stains, consitent with that caused by water coming into contact with the powder, were observed on the clothes by FIVE DIFFERENT WITNESSES, including her APOC representative, not to mention the witnesses who saw similar coloured stains on the Grievors desk calendar, phone and computer keyboard."

 

Ruby sapra resigned, and then tied to recind her resignation. The corporation refused. She took APOC to the labour board and the Arbitrator ruled on the issue of recinding the resignation.

 

Although her allowed the resignation to be recinded, and gave his reason, he upheld the discharge, as he staed she "spun a web of lies" and offered "no reasonable explanation" for the TDP dye stains that were on her, and other places.

 

INTERTESTING FACTS...

 

 

What's very interesting in the case is how dishonest she was, not only in the case, but also with her personal life, which SHE BROUGHT to the case as argument but quickly backfired on her and SANJAY as they were in business together and made false statements under oath, to the commoissionners of oaths (Mr Ralph Culp), to a consumers proposal to thier creditors for ($120,000.00)

 

In the Decision:

"The Grievor testified that the loss of her job had greatly affected her relationship with her husband (Sanjay Sapra) and had caused them to file Consumer Protection. In Cross examination the grievor (Ruby Sapra) admitted that she and her husband were in serious financial difficulties. On July 27, 2010 they had one hundred and twenty thousand dollars ($120,000.00) in credit card debt, the majority of which was accumulated before she lost her job. She identified a consumer proposal which she and her husband had prepared to sumbit to thier creditors. She agreed and signed the proposal.She further AGREED THET NOWHERE IN THE DOCUMENT WAS MENTION MADE OF THE COMPANY SHE AND HER HUSBAND OWNED, WHICH WAS STILL A VIABLE ENTITY ON THE DATE OF SIGNIONG THE CONSUMER PROPOSAL. She added that she did not know the financial side of the business."

 

THIS MEANS THAT RUBY SAPRA AND HER HUSBAND (SANJAY SAPRA), OUR PRESENT NATIONAL DIRECTOR MADE FALSE STATEMENTS ON THE SIGNED PAPERWORK OF THE CONSUMER PORPOSAL GIVEN TO THE CREDITORS. THE MAJORITY OF THE DEBT WAS BEFORE HER FIRING, (AS STATED) BUT SHE AND SANJAY FAILED TO DISCLOSE THAT THEY OWN A VIABLE BUSINESS, A SWEET SHOP IN BRAMPTON. THIS IS ILLEGAL ACT IN ITSELF.

 

THE ARBITRATOR CAUGHT THIS AND COMMENTED IN THE DECISION STATING:

"IF I HARBOURED ANY DOUBT THAT THE GRIEVOR WAS LESS THAN TRUTHFUL, THE EVIDENCE THAT SHE KNOWINGLY MADE A FALSE DECLARATION IN HER CREDITORS PROPASAL COMPLETELY DISPELLED THAT NOTION. APOC COUNCSEL ARGUED THAT I SHOULD DIREGARD THE cORPORATION'S ARGUMENT ON THIS POINT AND DIRECT MY ATTENTION TO THE GRIEVOR'S (RUBY SAPRA'S) TESTIMONY THAT SHE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THE CORPORATE ORGANIZATION OF THE RESTAURANT AND SWEET SHOP, OR THE CORPORATE MINUTES OF THE BUSIONESS. I CANNOT ACCEPT APOC'S ARGUMENT ON THIS POINT. THE GRIEVOR (RUBY SAPRA) IS AN EDUCATED INDIVIDUAL WITH A UNIVERSITY DEGREE. SHE MAY NOT HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THE CORPORATE ORGANIZATION OR THE CORPORATE MINUTES BUT SHE WAS CERTAINLY AWARE THAT THE BUSINESS WAS STILL IN OPERATION WHEN SHE SIGNED THE CREDITOR'S PROPOSAL. SHE TESTIFIED THAT SHE READ THE DOCUMENT BEFORE SIGNING. SHE ALSO TESTIFIED THET SHE WORKED THE CASH AT THE BUSINESS FROM TIME TO TIME. ON FEBRUARY 3, 2009, SHE HAD A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MONEY WHICH SHE SAID WERE THE RECEIPTS FROM THE BUSINESS, TO BE DEPOSITED IN THE BANK. THEREFORE, I AM OF THE VIEW THAT SHE KNEW FULL WELL THAT THE BUSINESS WAS STILL OPERATIONAL WHEN SHE ATTACHED HER SIGNATURE TO THE DOCUMENT. A CAREFUL EXAMINATION OF THE DOCUMENT REVEALS THAT THE GRIEVOR (RUBY SAPRA) SWORE UNDER OATH OR MADE A SOLEMN DECLARATION, BEFORE A COMMISSIONER OF OATHS FOR THE PROVINCE OF ONTARIO, MR RALPH CULP, THAT THE STATEMENT, TO THE BEST OF HER KNOWLEDGE WAS FULL, TRUE AND COMPLETE STATEMENT OF AFFAIRS ON THE 27TH OF JULY 2010. BY NOT DIVULGING THAT THE BUSINESS WAS A GOING CONCERN, IN MY RESPECTFUL VIEW, THE GRIEVOR (RUBY SAPRA) KNOWINGLY MADE A FALSE DECLARATION".

 

In otherwords, Sanjay Sapra, our National Director, OWNS a restaurant and sweet shop. The signed a consumers proposal to thier creditors, as they had a reported $120,000 in credit card debt, and made false declarations (as stated by the arbitrator) under oath, and signed to that effect, without disclosing the viable business.

 

WHY WOULD YOU HIDE THAT?

 

DOES YOUR BUSINESS HAVE ASSETS THAT WOULD AFFECT THE CONSUMERS PROPOSAL?

 

When the security Officer's searched her, they found $300 in her pocket and asked her why she had so much money, she testified in the arbitration that (and I quote from the arbitration):

"she testified that she (Ruby Sapra) and her husband (Sanjay Sapra) are partners in an East Indian Restaurant and Sweet Shop located at 2260 Bovaird Drive East in Brampton".

SANJAY, DON'T YOU THINK OWNING A RESTAURANT AND SWEET SHOP PLAY A ROLE IN A CONSUMER PROPOSAL TO YOU AND YOUR WIFE'S CREDITORS?

The Arbitrator saw through (and I quote) the "web of lies" and upheld the discharge with very interesting remarks. The 57 page Arbitration decision (with appendix A included), is a formal decision an is a public document as it is case law (jurisprudence)

WE KNOW THE DELEGATES FOR THE CONVENTION WHO ELECTED THE REGION WERE NOT. THEY WERE HAND PICKED BY IRWIN NANDA AND A NATIONAL OFFICER WHEN THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP BOOK MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEARED. MOST OF TORONTO KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED

TRUTH ALWAYS PREVAILS. THE NATIONAL EXECTUIVE BOARD SHOULD THINK TWICE ABOUT WHAT SANJAY BRINGS TO THE BOARD. ITS NEVER SOMETHING THAT BENEFITS THE MEMBERSHIP. ITS ALWAY SOMETHING THAT WOULD BENEFIT HIM OR HIS CLOSE FRIENDS LIKE IRWIN NANDA. THINGS LIKE INTERFERING WITH ELECTIONS OR TRYING TO STOP PEOPLE FROM VOICING THIER OPINIONS OR CRITISIZE THERE ACTIONS.(INSTEAD OF USING THE OPINIONS OR CRITISM AND CORRECTING HIS AND HIS CLOSE FRIEND'S BEHAVIOURS).

IF THEY DID CHANGE THIER BEHAVIOURS AND STOP THE CORRUPTION, DECEIT, CHEATING AND LYING, THERE WOULD BE NOTHING TO WRITE ABOUT AND THINGS WOULD BE GREAT. I'M ALL IN FAVOUR OF THIS (IF IT HAPPENS).

UNFORTUNATELY, THE CORRUPTION SEEMS TO CONTINUE AND THE MEMBERSHIP HAS A RIGHT TO KNOW THE TRUTH . IF NATIONAL OFFICE CAN'T STOP THE CORRUPTION, AND INFACT SUPPORTS THOSE LIKE IRWIN NANDA THROUGH SANJAY (BY ENTERTAINING HIS ONE SIDED, UNDERHANDED, SELF SERVINGING MOTIONS THAT DO NOTHING BUT PERPETUATE THE CORRUPTION), THAN NOTHING WILL CHANGE.

CHANGE WILL HOWEVER HAPPEN BY THE TRUTH BEING EXPOSED. THOSE THAT ARE CORRUPT, SHOULD BE WORRIED, THOSE THAT ARE NOT HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. ITS NOT SLANDER IF ITS TRUE.

IT'S IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT NOT ALL OF THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE BOARD SUPPORT THE CORRUPTION, THROUGHT SANJAY'S SILLY MOTIONS. THERE ARE HONEST MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD THAT TRY TO DO THE RIGHT THING (BUT ARE UNFORTUNATELY OUTNUMBERED).

FROM WHAT WE ARE TOLD, THE BOARD IS MEETING THIS WEEK. IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE WHAT KIND OF NON-SENSE MOTIONS SANJAY WILL PUT FORWARD THIS TIME . IS IT TO WASTE MORE MONEY UNECESSARLY? SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE LOCAL ELECTIONS WHERE HIS FRIENDS ALL GOT REALLY BADLY DEFEATED (BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT CHEAT THIS TIME)? OR IS IT ANOTHER WAY TO TRY TO HAVE NATIONAL OFFICE INTERFERE OR TRY TO BULLY THE TORONTO LOCAL LIKE HIS LAST MOTION TO HAVE A SEPARATE MEETING FOR IRWIN'S CHALLENGE TO THE CHAIR .... OR PUT THE TORONTO LOCAL UNDER TRUSTEESHIP - IF THEY DON'T AS INSTRUCTED (WHICH ENDED UP COSTING ALOT OF UNECESSARY MONEY, AND IN IRWIN LOSING THE MOTION AT THAT VOTE ANYWAYS - AS HE SHOULD).

IF THE BOARD MEMBERS WHO SUPPORT THE NON-SENSE OF BULLYING OF THE TORONTO LOCAL CONTINUE TO DO SO, THEN THE MEMBERSHIP SHOULD KNOW WHO THEY ARE, AND MAYBE THE MEMBERS IN THEIR REGION COULD VOICE HOW MISGUIDED THEIR DECISIONS ARE FOR THE MEMBERSHIP. I REALLY HOPE THEY DO THE RIGHT THING.

I HOPE THE TOPIC OF IRWIN SUING MEMBERS IS DISCUSSED AND THEY TRY AND HELP DEFEND THESE MEMBERS, AS SUING THEM IS AGAINST THE NATIONAL CONSTITUTION (SECTION 8.39). ITS WRONG THAT THEY MUST FIND MONEY FOR LAWYERS TO DEFEND THEMSELVES FROM THE NON-SENSE, ESPECIALLY A SINGLE STRUGGLING MOTHER WHO IS TRYING TO SUPPORT HER SMALL CHILD .

As most of us have heard, on Friday January 10, 2017, Irwin Nanda surved Brampton court documents to 4 of our members in Gateway, including a struggling single mother of a small child, suing them for $25,000 for sharing information that was posted all over the plant and voicing their opinions on a closed social media group called "WhatsApp". (see details further down this page on this site).

Members are outraged. This has never happened in the history of CUPW. Irwin Nanda slithered his way into geting invited into a closed "WhatsApp" work group started my members on the work floor. it was created to share information like overtime postings, overtime/ extra hours calls (before or after shift), health and safety, bulletins of all sorts, good or bad, and occasional healthy debates of opinions.

 

Iwrin Nanda was, for the past month, (after he anounced he was running for Local president) documenting and recording/printing all of the content posted in this private group including private emails to build a (what many call) a pathetic law suit.

 

Irwin, who left the OFL with a huge pay day of a reported $500,000 plus other money, (and scandal after scandal, stemming from the time he was in the Regional office to present day) is trying to make even more money off the backs of innocent rank and file members who work to put food on the table for thier families. Irwin on the other hand, who has no children and has traveled the world, mostly on our union's as well as the OFL's dime, has stooped to an all time deplorable low in doing something not even the Corporation would do. He has not returned back to work since he has left the OFL, over 16 months ago, and has been appointed by our National office to tour around the local (PAID BY OUR UNION DUES), an be a "spokes person" for our National Director Sanjay Sapra, who, as many seen in meetings cannot answer any questions posed to him. He has been on this WhatsApp group all of this time. National refuses to help these members who did nothing wrong and have been sharing information (many if not all are shop stewards), and have the respect of the work floor for being open, transparent and infomative.

 

NATIONAL.....DO THE RIGHT THING !!!

Our National Officers have taken an "Oath of Office" to defend our Membership and the National Constitution.

IRWIN NANDA HAS VIOLATED THE NATIONAL CONSTITUTION, YET NATIONAL HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT IT. THEY HAVE NOT CHARGED HIM OR EXPELLED HIM FROM THE UNION FOR DOING SUCH A HEINOUS , DEPLORABLE ACT OF TAKING FOOD AWAY FROM THE TABLE OF WORKER'S CHILDREN AND FAMILIES WITH A PATHETIC LAW SUIT. EVEN THOUGH IT'S PATHETIC, THESE FOUR INOCENT WORKERS WHO DID NOTHING WRONG BY VOICING THIER PERSONAL OPINION IN A CLOSED SOCIAL MEDIA GROUP, ARE FURTHER VICTIMIZED BY HAVING TO COME UP WITH MONEY FOR A LAWYER TO DEFEND THEM IN COURT.

EVERYONE IS WATCHING TO SEE IF NATIONAL WILL DO THE RIGHT THING AND HELP THE VICTIMS OF THE MONSTER THEY CREATED (IRWIN) THROUGH THEIR CONSTANT SUPPORT.

 

Section 8.39 of our National Constitution (which National MUST defend) reads:

AS IRWIN HAS VIOLATED THE CONSTITUTION, WE ASK NATIONAL TO TELL IRWIN TO EITHER DROP THE LAW SUIT NOW OR BE CHARGED WITH VIOLATING SECTION 8.39 OF OUR NATIONAL CONSTIUTION AND FACE CONSEQUENCES LIKE EXPULSION FROM OUR UNION.

IF BY SOME WAY THE GRINCH (IRWIN) DOES GET A HEART AND DROPS THE LAW SUIT, NATIONAL SHOULD FURTHERMORE, HELP THESE MEMBERS WITH THEIR LEGAL COSTS (SO FAR) ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NON-SENSE.

ITS AMAZING HOW OUR NATIONAL CAN FINANCIALLY HELP/SUPPORT WORLD INJUSTICES LIKE IN CUBA, (FREEING THE CUBAN FIVE), AND OTHER PLACES, WHICH IS GREAT, BUT SEEMS TO TURN ITS BACK ON OUR OWN FELLOW, UNION PAYING BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO HELP PAY FOR THE STRENGTH AND GROWTH OF THIS UNION AND THE SALARIES OF ALL LEVELS OF OUR ORGANIZATION. THESE MEMBERS STOOD STRONG AND SUPPORTED OUR NATIONAL OFFICE WHEN THEY NEEDED SUPPORT AND MOST ARE SHOP STEWARDS WHO STICK THIER NECKS OUT EVERY NIGHT DEFENDING OUR MEMBERS AGAINST THE BOSS.

 

WE HEAR THERE WILL BE SOME COLLECTIONS ON THE WORK FLOOR, SO IF YOU CAN GIVE ANYTHING, PLEASE DO. THERE IS ALSO A SECURE "SUPPORT ME" , (ATTACKS FROM IRWIN LEGAL FUND) SET UP FOR THESE MEMBERS AS WELL. PLEASE GO TO THE LINK BELOW AND GIVE ANYTHING YOU CAN. IRWIN NANDA'S CORRUPTION, BRIBERY, ABUSE OF POWER, MANIPULATION, INTIMIDATION, THREATENING, LYING & DECEIT... IS IT HEREDITARY?

Irwin's mother, INDRA NANDA was a supervisor in West LPP (now known as West Gateway) in 1989.

INDRA NANDA was caught selling jobs (of at least $500 + each), recieving money or gifts from workers to get work or keep working at Canada post, bribing supervisors in staffing , manupulating call casual lists, keeping /assigning workers who were not qualified (like workers who "could not read or work with the English language"), forcing workers to "extract mail from the mailstream", (and threratening them with reprisals if brought to the attention of others) "having a worker fired, (while she kept vital information in her possesion that would have had "major implications with the decision") and more..

 

The matter was taken to Arbitration and on APRIL 24, 1991 she, INDRA NANDA, was found GUILTY of the accusations which include (and I quote directly from the arbitration decision):

 

    • your acceptance of monies from applicants/employees of Canada Post in return for employment/continued employment with Canada post

    • your acceptance of merchandise /gifts/services from applicants/employees in return for employment/continued employment with Canada Post

    • your intimidation of employees of Canada Post Corporation to purchase merchandise from a private business owned/operated by yourself

    • your instructions to employees under your charge, to extract mail from the mail stream, in violation of procedures and theatening reprisals if these instructions are brought to the attention of others

    • your attempt bribing of other Supervisors to violate established procedures as they relate to staffing procedures

    • your alleged manipulation of the call casual employee list

    • your failure to exercise reasonable Supervisory responsibility by keeping and assigning individuals to work in the facility when they are unqualified to perform the duties, i.e. could not read or work with the English language.

    • your failure to exercise your Supervisory responsibilites in a diciplinary matter which resulted in a employee being released from Canada Post Corporation when you had vital information in your posession, which had major implications in the decision

The Artbitrator in the arbitration decision commented that:

"The grievor had a position of trust and authority which she callously used to her advantage. The evidence clearly showed that employees felt endebted to her, and felt compelled to give her gifts and perform services in order to assure continued employement or in hope of securing more stable employement. The evidence also clearly showed that the grievor (Indra Nanda) demanded gifts and services from those working for her in order that such subordinates maintain or enhance thier employment opportunities."

NOTE : THIS IS VERY INTERESTING HOW SIMILAR THIS BEHAVIOR WHEN YOU COMPARE IT TO HER SON, IRWIN NANDA. THOSE WHO KNOW IRWIN WELL WOULD ATTEST TO THE FACT THAT WHEN HE DOES SOMETHING FOR YOU, (SELFSERVING) YOU ARE INDEBTED TO HIM FOR A LONG, LONG TIME, SOMETIMES FOR LIFE. HE WILL ALWAYS SAY TO YOU "YOU OWE ME...' OR "REMEMBER WHEN I ..." TO FORCE YOU TO COME OUT TO A GENERAL MEETING OR A VOTE AND VOTE HIS WAY. HE ALWAYS HAS SOMEONE (WHO ALSO OWES HIM) TO LOOK AT HOW YOU VOTE. HE INTIMIDATES MANY, USUALLY REMINDIND YOU "I'M THE NATIONAL DIRECTOR...' OR "I'M THE OFL VICE PRESIDENT...". MANY COMMENT THAT IF YOU GO AGAINST HIM, HE WILL FIND A WAY TO TRY GET TO YOU, THOUGH THE COMMUNITY, CUT FROM EDUCATIONALS, DAMAGE YOUR REPUTATION, ETC. SOUND LIKE HIS MOM?

ALSO LET'S LOOK AT BRIBERY. PAYING $400 OR $600 (TAX FREE) CHILDCARE DEPENDING ON THE LENGTH OF AN EDUACTIONAL, TO HIS SUPPORTERS REGARDLESS OF IF THEY HAVE CHILDREN OR NOT, IN EXCHANGE FOR SUPPORT, IN IS MY OPINION , THE SAME AS BRIBERY, JUST LIKE WHAT HIS MOTHER DID. AND OFCOURSE YOU OWE HIM FOR IT, OR YOU WILL NEVER SEE ANOTHER EDUCATIONAL AGAIN (NO MONEY), IF YOU DONT COME OUT AND VOTE HIS WAY AND HAVE YOUR FRIENDS & FAMILY IN THE POST OFFICE VOTE HIS WAY AS WELL. THE EDUCATION OFFICER (WHO HAS NEVER BEEN A SHOP STEWARD OR OPENED A COLLECTIVE AGRREEMENT) , MANDEEP KALRA BUILT HIS FOLLOWING OFF OF THE FEAR, BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION OF IRWIN AS MANY CAN SEE HIM RUNNING AROUND AT MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS OR VOTES TELLING EACH OF HIS SUPPORTERS HOW TO VOTE REGARDLESS IF THEY KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE ARE.

 

More issues came to the surface during the Arbitration, some of possible criminal nature. The Arbitrator, Mr. Von Veh, in the decision, commented that:

"...her (Indra Nanda) opening of the mail and others is entirely unacceptable conduct that may be worhty of further investigation by the Corporation or law enforcement agencies."

 

The Arbitrator, in the decision, further commented that:

"her (Indra Nanda's) intimindating conduct towards employees and attempted bribery of a supervisory employee are entirely

forgeign to any rational behavior by a person cloaked with managerial authority. her futher staed her outright solicitation of monies from subordinate employees is reprehensible and abusive"

"Its interesting to note that the employees who were subjected to the abusive conduct of the grievor (Indra Nanda) chose NOT to speak to thier supervisors, but rather, raised their concerns with their member of parliament. Such an obvious lack of confidence in the managerial infrastructure of the Corporation is not surprising when the conduct of the grievor, a manager, is considered."

 

NOTE: THIS IS ALSO VERY INTERESTING BEHAVIOR WHEN YOU COMPARE HER ACTION AND/OR BEHAVIORS TO THAT OF HER SON IRWIN. IRWIN IS VERY ABUSIVE WHEN IT COMES TO GETTING WHAT HE WANTS, AND THOSE WHO KNOW HIM, KNOW THAT HE WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET HIS WAY. SOME OF WHICH CROSS THE LINE (WHICH MANY KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT). HE ALWAYS USES HIS POSITION, THAT IS, WHEN HE WAS THE "NATIONAL DIRECTOR, OR THE OFL VICE PRESIDENT TO INTIMIDATE PEOPLE THE DO HIS WILL. THIS INCLUDES MEMBERS AND REGIONAL AND SOME NATIONAL OFFICERS. IF HE HAS SOMETHING ON YOU, HE WILL TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF IT. ONE MUST ASK THEMSELVES, THAT, FOR OVER 16 MONTHS (WHEN HE WAS OUT OF OFFICE FROM THE OFL), HE HAS NOT RETURNED BACK TO THE WORKFLOOR LIKE ANYONE ELSE. INSTEAD YOU SEE HIM BOOKED OFF (PAID) THROUGH HIS BEST FRIEND SANJAY SAPRA (NATIONAL DIRECTOR), THROUGH NATIONAL OFFICE TO BE SANJAY'S SPOKES PERSON, AS MANY OF YOU SEEN AT THE CAFETERIA MEETINGS, WHERE HE SPOKE, ANSWERED QUESTIONS DIRECTED TO SANJAY ETC... THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE BOARD SIDES WITH ANYTHING HE WANTS INCLUDING THREATENING THE LOCAL WITH TRUSTEESHIP TO HAVE A MEETING ABOUT HIS MOTION! THIS IS UNHEARD OF! TRUTEESHIP IS USED FOR IF A LOCAL IS IN THE RED, I.E. CAN'T HANDLE THIER OWN FINANCES... NOT FOR BULLY LIKE TACTICS FOR REGIONAL OFFICE TO TAKE OVER THE LOCAL (TRUSTEESHIP)... IF THEY DON'T DO WHAT THEY WANT! (LIKE A PLAYGROUND BULLY WITH LUNCH MONEY)

HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN???...MAKES YOU WONDER. EVERYONE IN THE UNEXPERIENCED REGIONAL OFFICE OWES HIM FOR GETTING THEM THE POSITION THROUGH MANIPULATION AND OUTRIGHT MAKING UP THE CONVENTION DELEGATE LISTS, WITH HIS FRIEND IN THE NATIONAL OFFICE..SOUNDS LIKE WHAT HIS MOTHER DID WITH THE MANUPULATION OF CALL LIST AND BRIBERY OF THE STAFFING SUPERVISORS DOESN'T IT ?

ESPECIALLY WHEN NATIONAL, DESPITE ALL OF THE PLEAS FROM THE MEMBERS TO INVESTIGATE MANY INCONSITENCIES AT THE TIME, REFUSED BECAUSE OF IRWINS MANIPULATION AND CORRUPTION? DOESNT REWARDING OWEN EDWARDS WITH A REGIONAL POSITION AND PUTTING HIS GIRLFRIEND (PAM TASCHUK) ON THE "SAVE CANADA POST CAMPAIGN" PAYING HER FOR MONTHS IN EXCHANGE FOR HELPING HIM CHEAT IN THE LOCAL ELECTION, SOUND LIKE WHAT IRWIN'S MOTHER DID BY USING FAVORS/MONEY/ GIFT (ETC..) IN EXCHANGE FOR EMPLOYMENT AND CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT? MOST WHO FOLLOW WHAT HAPPENED IN THE LOCAL AND REGION KNOW THIS TRUTH.

INCLUDING SUEING OUR OWN MEMBERS (YES, EVEN SUEING STRUGGLING SINGLE MOTHERS, DON'T BOTHER HIS CONSCIENCE) TO INTIMIDATE AND TRY AND SHUT PEOPLE UP. SOUND FAMILIAR? TACTICS LIKE THAT OF INDRA NANDA, OF USING POWER OR PERCIEVED POWER, MONEY AND THREATS TO GET WHAT SHE WANTED?

BY THE WAY, DON'T BE FOOLED, ROBBY JOUHAL (SANJAY SAPRA'S NEFEW) WHO IS ALSO RUNNING FOR LOCAL PRESIDENT IS ON THE SAME SIDE OF IRWIN AND SUPPORTS IRWIN. THE DEAL IS, THAT THEY ARE BOTH TRYING TO TAKE WAY VOTES FROM THE THIRD CANDIDATE MEGAN WHITFIELD (THE CURRENT PRESIDENT WHO DOES NOT SUPPORT THE CORRUPTION). THERE STRATEGY IS THAT IF BOTH IRWIN AND ROBBY SURVIVE SECOND ROUND AND MEGAN DOESN'T (BY TAKING HER VOTES) , ROBBY WILL DROP AND IRWIN WILL BECOME PRESIDENT, BY ACLAIMATION.

IRWIN NANDA IS SUING A STRUGGLING SINGLE MOTHER IN GATEWAY (AND 3 OTHER MEMBERS WITH FAMILIES) FOR $25,000 EACH, FOR SHARING POSTED PUBLIC INFORMATION IN A CLOSED SOCIAL MEDIA GROUP.

 

 

IWRIN NANDA, is proving his reputation constantly. No one expected his latest deplorable move. On Friday, February 10, 2017, a single struggleling mother was shocked, when she was served Brampton Court documents from a lawyer acting on behalf of Irwin Nanda, suing her for slander for $25,000. This single mother (of a small child) wrote on social media:

"I post alot of bulletin...anything from O/T to Health & Safety to stuff that I find on the boards or tables at work... We should't be sued for it! no if and or buts...that man is trying to take food from my kids mouth... my hard earned money goes to supporting my child and he is disgusting for doing this."

 

Three others, from Gateway Postal Plant, all with families also got this unexpectred surprise.

 

One of the 4 who recived these court papers (notice) wrote on social media:

"Sisters and brother I am one of the recievers of this notice, I appeal to all my 3 other sisters and brothers to have faith in judicial system and truth will prevail. Brother Irwin also knows in heart to heart that whatever we opinion of him on these "WhatsApp" is true. nothing but true. We tried to show him the mirror, so he could correct himself and contribute better for the Membership. But he chose to silence our voice by using such low class tactics. Here, I will also appeal to all the members particlarily the South Asian community to condemn his such act of dragging members to the courts and setting a bad example to the CUPW".

 

Another member wrote:

"Its a sad day in the life of the union when one member sues other member simply to discourage criticism and retain his grip on power. That's my opinion"

 

Members are outraged. This has never happened in the history of CUPW. Irwin Nanda slithered his way into geting invited into a closed "WhatsApp" work group started my members on the work floor. it was created to share information like overtime postings, overtime/ extra hours calls (before or after shift), health and safety, bulletins of all sorts, good or bad, and occasional healthy debates of opinions.

 

Iwrin Nanda was, for the past month, (after he anounced he was running for Local president) documenting and recording/printing all of the content posted in this private group including private emails to build a (what many call) a pathetic law suit.

 

Irwin, who left the OFL with a huge pay day of a reported $500,000 plus other money, (and scandal after scandal, stemming from the time he was in the Regional office to present day) is trying to make even more money off the backs of innocent rank and file members who work to put food on the table for thier families. Irwin on the other hand, who has no children and has traveled the world, mostly on our union's as well as the OFL's dime, has stooped to an all time deplorable low in doing something not even the Corporation would do.

 

Now these workers have to find money for a laywer to represent them as they have strict time to respond /take action or iwin would have a judgement awarded to him of $25,000 each ($100,000) all together.

 

Many are waiting to hear what National Office has say about this deplorable act from a person who they constantly support, on the National Executive board.

 

Were all waiting to hear, will our National Office be supporting Iriwn? (and not get involved?) or are they going to help these members who have families to support?

 

 

 

 

UNMASKING THE TRUTH IN THE TORONTO REGION

 

(HOW THEY WANT TO SPREAD THE CORRUPTION TO OUR LOCAL)

 

Let's take a closer look at the “dream team” Irwin Nanda surrounds himself with. The one thing Irwin is best at is Deceit and deceiving the membership is really a walk in the park for Irwin Nanda. Don't be fooled that Robby Jouhal is running separate as him and Nanda have an agreement that will get Irwin Nanda to be the Toronto local president. The plan is for Robby to pull out in round two and return to being chief steward of maintenance, a vacancy that is still not filled. Let's look at these characters closely.

 


Irwin Nanda this name and scandal go hand-in-hand and have since his first election into the Region back in 1999. He has never done anything for anyone that isn't self-serving. He surrounds himself with people who jump to his every whim. This man has no respect for people. Those that know him well know that his reputation is one of scandals which include sexual harassment, assault, racism, sexism, homophobia, and attacking the disabled (as seen in his most recent attack bulletin against a disabled member who isn't even running in the election). With money gone missing and shamed out of the Ontario Federation of labour with a $500,000 payday in November 2015 this man still has yet to return to the work floor. What's he done instead of returning to the work floor like everyone else? Well for the last 16 months he acts as a spokesperson for National Director Sanjay Sapra and is getting a paycheck with benefits through our union dues. Yes that's right for the last 16 months he has been blocked off by Sanjay Sapra. Why would Sanjay do such a thing? Simple the entire Regional office was elected illegally thanks to Irwin Nanda's alliances who cheated. First they stole the Local GM sign in book, then Irwin’s friend at National made up the delegation list tailored to Irwin followers, then they modified the ballots and rules, and insured the entire delegation was made up of pure corruption, as they voted like robots how he wanted them to. So to make a long story short Sanjay owes him. 

 


Sanjay Sapra National Director or as he's better known as puppet for Irwin Nanda. His job is simplyto do Irwin's dirty work for the National executive board in Ottawa. The majority of the board is corrupt, has a history with Irwin  and follows his wishes like those lately constantly vote “yes” to  interfering with local matters in a bully-like manner “do this or else….Trusteeship!” Ask him a question and see if he can answer anything without Irwin?

 


Mandeep Kalra The Education and Organization Officer (REOO) who can be found fraudulently and openly running his wife dentistry during working hours while taking a paycheck from our union dues! Never opened a contract or been a shop steward. The only work he does for our union is to run educationals of which he fills with all his friends and pays them all $400 (tax free) childcare whether they have children or not. This is how he buys loyalty, and votes at meetings. National is aware of all this but chooses to do nothing, because of their good friend Irwin. Look up his wife’s dentistry and you’ll find him there…

 


Walter Woloschuk (RGO) is supposed to serve as your Regional Grievance Officer however spends most of his time sitting clueless beside a lawyer who represents our union in front of the labour board. Why? Because the regional office is screwing and devastating the membership because they aren't capable of representing the members. Whether it’s ignorance with arbitrations, missing STDP time-limits or plain stupidity. Members are losing everything due to this office's incompetence which has never happened in the history of our union.

 


 Pavneet Ver Union Representative (UR) Who Is She? Exactly.  Her role is to be Irwin's main cheerleader, as he can do no wrong in her eyes. Ask her a contract question for a good laugh. Although it’s not so funny when she argues your arbitration and you get screwed!

 


Gurmeet Dhillon Union Representative (UR) another one handed a position simply because he would do anything for Nanda. He has no clue what he’s doing, which seems to be the common theme in this Region, which is funny, until he gets your arbitration, and you’re screwed!


 

Owen Edwards Union representative (UR) he was given this job because they owe him as he was the mastermind Chair behind cheating in the last local elections by purchasing thousands of extra ballots. He’s never opened a contract or been a steward. Team that together with no-conscience, morals or ethics after stealing the election from candidates by cheating, would you trust him with your arbitration? NO WAY! You would think that National would take immediate action since there is clear proof of the cheating, BUT NO! Probably because Irwin told them not toAnd they listen as it seems Irwin controls them.

Most of us already know that the last Toronto local elections (2014) were rigged, in otherworld’s there was immense cheating. We all knew that the results did not make sense and that something was wrong, as no one could believe the results.
WELL, NOW HERE’S THE PROOF IN BLACK AND WHITE!
THEY BOUGHT 2200 EXTRA BALLOTS THE FIRST ROUND AND MORE IN THE SECOND ROUND, AND CHARGED IT TO OUR UNION! (AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE RECIEPT ON THE LEFT), AND ADITIONAL 6000 BALLOTS IN ROUND 2 (SEE RECEIPTS ON THE RIGHT)


This is how they did it

The 1st Round ballots went out in the mail February 1st 2014. Members have 3 weeks to fill them out and return 7300 ballots, by mail

 


On February 10, 2014, Owen Edwards – see receipt (with Irwin Nanda-best friends & roommates) ordered and printed an extra 2200 ballots from the same printing house for $994.40 (and billed it to our union – to add insult to injury, we the members paid for the cheating!). The printing company’s name has been blacked out on these receipts, as they had really nothing to do with it as they did what the Election Committee Chair OWEN EDWARD’s (IRWIN”S best friend –who lives with him) asked them to do.

 


In Round 2 they did the same thing., but they did not make a separate transaction…it was all on the same bill. See round 2 receipt)  they ordered 6000 more ballots that the envelopes going out to the members.

This is why Irwin Nanda drags out most of the south Asian community (although most are probably not aware of his corruption), divides the local with racism, and wants the election committee so bad and the “mail in ballot” system so bad.  The National Executive Board (NEB) favours his corruption as they seem to do everything he wants, through Sanjay Sapra, even when there is proof of corruption.  Members have written strongly worded letters to  national questioning the Nationals Boards absurd unprecedented decisions that support Nanda’s every request, and ignores the local’s and the membership’s, but board not only ignores them, but continues to support the corruption for some insane reason. Why is national supporting corruption?  No one knows why national is bowing down to Irwin Nanda and does whatever he wants through Sanjay Sapra?, Why does Irwin Nanda “OWN” the Board?  There are many theories… but all involve severe corruption!  Shame!

Open letter to NEB:

Constitutional violations, racism and discrimination, prejudicial behaviour and micromanaging of the Toronto Local and abuse and humiliation of the Toronto Local President for political advantages and on behalf of Toronto Regional Officers and others connected to that office

 

Dear Brother Mike Palecek and NEB:

I am openly stating my intention based on my observations and will be passing on all related references to documents and occurrences to the public newspapers and other interested public and governmental agencies including the Labour Board to take a closer look at the operation of the Toronto Local, The Toronto Regional and the CUPW National offices as it relates to their interrelationships, their use of members' financial trusts via union dues and fair business and policy practices. Further, the interfering roles of the NEB and the Toronto Regional representatives in the normal operation of, and the destruction of the Toronto Local, their involvement in racial and sexist discrimination and bullying and the understood mob/gangster-style actions against the Toronto Local President, Sister MEGAN WHITFIELD. The NEB have done everything they can to undermine her leadership of the Toronto Local as well as to pander to the accusations and whims of the leadership of the Toronto Regional, which has a voice and representation on the NEB.
The NEB has persisted in behaviours and actions against the Toronto Local that we condemn CPC for using against CUPW members individually and collectively. The present NEB are not just engaging in dirty, tribal THIRD WORLD POLITICS. They are very anti- DEMOCRATIC, anti-HUMAN RIGHTS, and downright unethical, repressive and regressive attitudes and actions. Very UN- CANADIAN at their very core.
For example, The Toronto Local President and the Executive Board followed all the rules for local by-law changes regarding conducting Local Elections as well as for the electing of members to the Toronto Local Elections Committee. However, the NEB has done everything it can to support the Toronto Regional and their disruptive and bullying actions against the Toronto Local. This includes delaying giving a ruling on the submitted by-law changes for 6 months. Then finally consenting to it and to its implementation in writing. Then contradicting this position not long after to please the objections of the Toronto Regional representative and their political supporters on the NEB, although that meant violating the National Constitution, undermining their own integrity and credibility and undermining the normal and understood operation of a CUPW Local.
You, the NEB, are fully aware of your other inappropriate actions against the Toronto Local since the Presidency of Sister Megan Whitfield because they are documented in emails and other formats that are accessible to all CUPW members and the general public and other organizations upon request and also by court orders.
Further, I will do all that I can to encourage in writing, in all electronic media and personal contacts throughout the plants and stations to my fellow workers to do the same and more, individually and collectively in order to expose to the Canadian public the inherent corruption and avarice and exploitation and misuse of the status of CUPW, as a union entity that exists in the present CUPW Leadership bodies in Ottawa and at the Toronto Regional Offices.
The Toronto Local deserves proper and fair treatment outside of political intrigue from the CUPW NEB as any other Local, as per the CUPW National Constitution. The NEB persists in using its voting powers in anti- Union ways. Ways that were never intended by the founding members of our union. Ways that are contrary to the word and spirit of the National Constitution. The Canadian Public and other CUPW members and unions across the country have a right to see the integrity or lack thereof of our present highest union representatives.
CUPW does not exist in a vacuum. CUPW is not the private property or private business of the current NEB. CUPW should not be taken hostage by persons who have abdicated their leadership posts and the inherent leadership role entrenched in personal sacrifice, for autocratic, dictatorial rule for personal gains. The present NEB took leadership of a union that have made many positive strides not only for union members but also for the Canadian public. Now they are participating in its destruction by IMPLOSION for their private and personal political gains.
The exploitation of the Toronto Local by the NEB and the Toronto Region for political and other selfish interests is a foreshadowing of what can be done to other CUPW Locals and the majority of their memberships by the members of the NEB who hold the majority on the Board, for the advantages of a select few. What is being done to the Toronto Local by members of the NEB is the foreshadowing of what can be done to any other Local if it suits their purposes. Which Local will be next?
These are my views and observations as a CUPW activist and member in good standing for the past 27 years. I am sure I am not the only member across the country who believe in our National Constitution, the autonomy of Locals and Local Leadership, respect for women and diversity, human rights and freedom from harassment and bullying in all forms and from all sources (CPC and CUPW included) and in subtle or openly aggressive forms. I am sure other activists and persons of good will and fair play share similar views.
Please feel free to take whatever action(s) you like against me, as I can live with it/ them and have already sought legal counsel on these matters as well. You will never own my sense of personal integrity or censure or muzzle activists out of fear of repercussions.

We deserve to have a union free of corruption, and a National Executive Board (NEB) that is accountable to you, the Membership. The majority of the NEB must stop supporting the corruption!
